Curriculum Overview
- The following curricular elements will be emphasized throughout the fellowship
- Leadership development
- Research tools and skills
- Fellows will be expected to:
- Attend the NAPCRG annual meeting at the beginning of the fellowship (November)
- Attend the NAPCRG annual meeting at the completion of the fellowship (November)
- Participate in scheduled webinars
- Produce required end products
- Faculty will:
- Provide coaching and support as fellows navigate through their fellowship year
- Offer feedback to the BRC Fellowship Leadership Team regarding fellow progress and areas for program improvement
- Evaluate the curricular products produced by fellows
- End products
- Vision statement for research/scholarship in their organization (department, program, institution)
- 3–5-year strategic plan for research/scholarship in their organization
- Research capacity assessments
- Stakeholder map
- Progress summary data and narrative
- Write a Leadership Philosophy identifying their leadership styles, strengths, and potential blind spots
- Summative presentation at NAPCRG
Application Process
- The application process for the fellows will begin May 15, 2024 and end July 31, 2024
- Required documents include:
- CV, including education, experience in both research and clinical areas as applicable and research interests
- Personal statement, addressed to the BRC Fellowship Program Directors, that expresses applicant's interest in the Building Research Capacity Fellowship and what they hope to accomplish through the program. Please include a description of how you feel this program will benefit you and the potential impact on your organization.
- Letter of support from your department chair or supervisor. This letter must include a description of intent to provide funding and protected time for the applicant. Please address the letter to BRC Fellowship Program Directors.
Tuition
BRC Fellowship tuition is $6,500 and covers materials and expenses for the fellowship, including:
- ADFM 2026 Annual Meeting Registration
- Monthly Webinars and Workshops
The Fellowship starts and ends at the NAPCRG Annual Meeting and fellows are expected to become a member of NAPCRG and attend the 2025 and 2026 NAPCRG Annual Meeting. Fellows are expected to cover their own travel expenses to and from in-person fellowship workshops.
Additionally, the BRC Fellowship offers one full tuition scholarship available for an applicant outside the US/Canada whose institution has financial barriers to sponsor their participation. This fellow is expected to fund their travel expenses to and from NAPCRG while ADFM Annual Meeting participation is optional. Please indicate your interest in this scholarship in your application.
